PREVENTION OF SEXUAL HARASSMENT (POSH) CELL

As per the guidelines of UGC, NAAC and the Supreme Court, Women Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Cell has been established by our College to provide a healthy and congenial atmosphere to the Women Staff members and students of the College. Sexual harassment is defined by law and includes requests for sexual favors, sexual advances or other sexual conduct when (1) submission is either explicitly or implicitly a condition affecting academic or employment decisions; (2) the behavior is sufficiently severe or pervasive as to create an intimidating, hostile or repugnant environment; or (3) the behavior persists despite objection by the person to whom the conduct is directed. The University considers such behavior, whether physical or verbal, to be a breach of its standards of conduct and will seek to prevent such incidents and take corrective action when sexual harassment occurs.

This cell aims at sensitizing the students and staff and working diligently to prevent sexual harassment in the College. Complaints of sexual harassment can be lodged with the Committee and appropriate disciplinary action is initiated by the members in accordance to the rules and regulations of the College.
